Mozilla launched Firefox 3.6 Beta 2 with added features

Mozilla has launched second beta of Firefox 3.6 with lots of added features and bug fixes. It was released on Wednesday with 190 bug fixes with same boost performance as in first beta. As we already know this version supports “Personas” and is added with native tab-previews for Windows 7 and Web Open Font Format support for developers looking to use new fonts on their sites.

The features added in this version is as follows:

  • (New in this update) A mechanism to prevent incompatible software
    from crashing Firefox.
  • Users can now change their browser’s appearance with a single
    click, with built in support for Personas.
  • Firefox 3.6 will alert users about out of date plugins to keep
    them safe.
  • Open, native video can now be displayed full screen, and supports
    poster frames.
  • Support for the WOFF font format.
  • Improved JavaScript performance, overall browser responsiveness
    and startup time.
  • Support for new CSS, DOM and HTML5 web technologies.

Firefox 3.6 does not supports most of the Add-ons as not author upgraded their add-ons to compatible with this version. If you still want to test your add-ons then download and install the Add-on Compatibility Reporter.
