Wordpress 2.8 is date to 10th June, 2009

Wordpress dev has announced the official release of Wordpress 2.8 in their dev blog. Its 10th June, next Wednesday. I am just confused that they are going to release Wordpress 2.8 but they told WP 2.9 require MySQL 4.1.2 or greater. They describe in their blog everything related to WP 2.9. Is their is any misqoute? Just waiting for Wednesday to see the release of Wordpress 2.8.
What about WP 2.9? Nothing I can say except waiting for 10th June.
